Chapter 1
The Prophetic is Meant to Prosper
In 2004 I had the privilege of making seven trips to Europe from America. During that time I had prophesied to hundreds of individuals during Prophetic Conferences and Church Services in many places through out Holland. At times it seemed that the prophetic was received with extreme caution by some of those attending, and upon further observation I discovered the reasons why. Some had been hurt by past prophetic ministry they had received, others were confused by past prophetic messages spoken over their lives, still others were disillusioned by the fact that the word they had received had not come to pass!
The prophetic was never intended to hurt, confuse or disillusion the Body of Christ, but rather as I Cor. 14:4 declares, to edify, exhort, and comfort the believers. Of course the problem of misuse of the prophetic is not unique to Holland, but is found worldwide as the prophetic ministry comes to maturity. I would like to address some of these issues with the hope of bringing healing and clarification to those who have been hurt, as well as provide a safeguard to those who receive future prophetic ministry. The Prophetic was not an idea or ministry that was conjured up by man, but rather it is a vehicle or ministry through which God communicates His Heart so man can fulfill his God-given destiny!
